This website was originally made as a part of the Teachers for Global Classrooms (TGC) Program. TGC provides a professional development opportunity for middle and high school teachers from the United States to participate in a program aimed at globalizing teaching and learning in their classrooms. It is run by IREX, an international nonprofit organization providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally. The TGC program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The pilot year of the program is 2011-2012, and includes the following key elements:
- An online course about global education (fall 2011)
- A pre-symposium in Washington D.C. to prepare for international travel (February 2012)
- A two week international fellowship to one of six countries: Ghana, Morocco, Ukraine, Brazil, Indonesia, India (Spring/Summer 2012)
- A post-symposium in Washington D.C. to debrief the experiences and make plans to bring the work back home (October 2012)
- Capstone projects to create global education resource guides for fellow educators (Fall 2012)

Sara, this is beautifully done! It must have taken some work to find all the blog titles and addresses. I love the layout with maps and links in alternating positions. Bravo!
My own blog roll for the TGC program is woefully inadequate. May I use some of this?
Tina
where else are you going-after you go to Ukraine and Turkey?
Home! (until more travels in the summer…)
This is super cool and a great idea!
